300!!!

Not only the first anniversary of the blogsite but the 300th post as well. So a little celebration is in order -- lead your partner to the dance floor and party down.

And before you leave, please take a little souvenir of the moment. And thank you for helping to make it happen. Click the image below.

NO PROROGUE

Okay, Mr. Harper, let's have a little chat, shall we?

You pulled this last year, remember? You'd got caught in some crisis or other, and your brilliant solution then was to dissolve Parliament until the heat blew over. Now, when there's another crisis, your solution?

Dissolve Parliament again.

Harper, in case you missed the memo, there's a lot of problems facing not only Canada but the rest of the world as well, and your convenient hiding out is serving neither you nor your party nor your country all that well.

Yes, yes, I've heard the "official excuse", some piece of twaddle about making it easier for MPs to attend the Olympics in BC. Harper, that has to be the lamest piece of side stepping I've heard out of Ottawa in a very long time, and that would include anything trotted out by Mulroney or Chrétien, both of whom were far more adept than you at this kind of nonsense.

So shape up, bud. You serve as Prime Minister at the will of the people, remember? Your party can be wiped off Parliament and reduced to a minimal presence with one simple election — or have you forgotten the election that saw the PCs with six seats?

Man up, mister, and get Parliament back to work. Canada doesnt have time for this bullshit.

(To my Canadian friends: check the website www.noprorogue.ca for information about rallies across the country. Click the image above for a wallpaper reminder, and then get out there and tell the politicoes that this isnt, as one said to CBC a couple of weeks ago, "some wingnut movement".)

What a Rush!

Single Panels 11!

We're less than ten posts away from 300 (300! in one year!), and I wanted to take the moment to thank everyone again for their comments. They're much appreciated, guys.

I have something special in mind for the tri-centennial post. Now here's hoping I get it finished in time. :-)

And the Brothers Voltaire project is now up and running wildly amok. I have absolutely no idea where this thing is gonna go, so it should be an interesting ride all around. Check it out here.

Putting the cap on it

Let's just put a small reminder out there that, despite all the things that would keep us apart, there are some binds that just cant be cut.

A Sentimental Education 8

A new project for the coming year

In addition to the work on "Doc and Raider" (and to everyone who has commented on the post below, many thanks -- youve given much to think about, and I appreciate it), this year will see -- on a separate site -- THE BROTHERS VOLTAIRE, another somewhat wide-ranging comic stip... but with a sci fi bent.

The Brothers are essentially the Dukes of Hazard in Space. Wandering the cosmos in their souped-up vehicle, the aptly-named "Get the Hell Outa the Way", they're intergalactic slackers who'd be content to live at home in their parents' basement... if they had any clue where home was in the first place.

Based on characters developed for a screenplay I wrote in 2007, it should be an interesting ride, and I look forward to sharing it with you. And once this puppy gets off the ground (so to speak), I encourage you to let folks know about it, just as you have with this one — and again, many thanks for that, folks. The responses have raised my spirits enormously, and I cannot thank you enough for it.

Single Panels 10!

More of the nonsense from PanHistoria. And I think I may have a new character to play with: the waiter in the lower right cartoon. This is his second appearance, and I'm already seeing some interesting possibilities for him. We'll see.

It's Your Choice!

Or, as I noted to a friend of mine tonight, "My Father's house has many mansions, but you never know when He might need one more."
